{"id":485,"date":"2015-02-11T20:32:16","date_gmt":"2015-02-11T20:32:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/brutalhammer.com\/?p=485"},"modified":"2015-02-11T21:30:31","modified_gmt":"2015-02-11T21:30:31","slug":"shocker-booze-boosts-creativity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brutalhammer.com\/shocker-booze-boosts-creativity\/","title":{"rendered":"Booze Boosts Creativity, New Study Needlessly Explains"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Shock Study: Booze Boosts Creativity<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>CHICAGO\u2014Scientists from the University of Chicago concluded in a recent study that men under the influence were faster and more creative in solving word association problems than those who were sober.<\/p>\n<p>This could be why many musicians, writers and artists swear they\u2019re more creative after drinking, researcher Jennifer Wiley noted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA composer or artist fixated on previous work may indeed find creative benefits from intoxication,\u201d Wiley said, confirming centuries of empirical knowledge.<\/p>\n<p>In the study, two groups of 20 social drinkers watched an animated movie. The volunteers in one group drank delicious Cape Cods; the other group remained stonily sober.<\/p>\n<p>Both groups then took part in a creative problem-solving task.
