PARIS—A French and American scientist have paired up to create an aerosol spray that gets you drunk immediately. Unfortunately, you sober up nearly as quickly.

The Wahh Quantum Sensations device, about the size of a tube of lipstick,  delivers a drop of alcohol at a time, which is presumably absorbed by the lungs for a lightning-fast effect.

The anti-alcohol lobby, currently lurching about in a pre-hysterical phase, is trying hard to figure out just how this will be “misused” by “alcoholics.”

The drunken sensation lasts a few seconds, then quickly fades. It would take thousands of sprays to get as much alcohol as in a typical cocktail.
Each Waah Quantum holds 21 sprays, and since they plan on selling them for $25 each, you will be paying roughly $1050 for a typical 1.5 oz shot of Everclear.

Cheeky bastards.
